The SSST Med ReCon is dedicated to the undergraduate students of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy degrees who are carrying out research projects whose main aim is the improvement of human health and welfare. Student Survey: Exploring The Future of Medicine
As part of the preparatory activities for MedReCon 2025, themed “The Future of Medicine”, our organising team conducted an internal survey to assess student interest in emerging medical fields, particularly healthy aging and longevity medicine.
The survey was distributed among students of the medical, pharmaceutical, and dental faculties at SSST University, engaging over 600 participants. It explored their awareness of longevity science, their interest in innovation in personalized and preventive healthcare, and their thoughts on potentially introducing longevity medicine as an elective subject in their curriculum.
The results were striking: 92% of respondents expressed a strong desire to learn more about longevity medicine and its clinical applications.
This feedback highlights a growing enthusiasm among students for cutting-edge medical approaches that aim not only to treat disease but to delay or prevent it altogether. It also reflects a collective readiness to engage with the future of healthcare, one that includes AI-driven diagnostics, biomarker-based therapies, and preventive strategies to extend healthspan.
The data gathered through this survey is now serving as a valuable foundation for academic and strategic planning, including our proposal to officially integrate longevity medicine into the medical education framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We believe that by responding to this interest, we can help position our region at the forefront of medical innovation in Europe.

- Do i need to submit an abstract to attend the conference?
No! You can join MED ReCon 2025 as a passive participant and still attend all lectures, panels, workshops, and social events. Submitting an abstract is only required if you want to present your research or compete in the student research presentation segment. - Who can apply for MED ReCon 2025?
Students of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and IT are heavily encouraged, but anyone can apply! Whether you’re an undergraduate or in your first year, this conference has something for you! - Is there a fee to attend?
Yes. The information for the general participation fee (for all students) are available in registration section. - Will I receive a certificate?
Yes! All registered participants will receive certificates of participation!
